This fund is in support of the Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach an ambitious culinary arts center being built on the college’s Grand Strand Campus and launched cooperatively between the David Brittain family and the Horry Georgetown Technical College Foundation in honor of his life, work, and contributions to his community.
This HGTC facility will become the foundation for food service training in the area and will shape a higher vision for Grand Strand dining and the food industry. This new home for HGTC’s Culinary Arts program will allow the college to expand from 200 students to 400 upon completion, in a wide variety of culinary specialties.
The Foundation is looking to raise $2.5 million in donations to the David L. Brittain Legacy Fund for Culinary Arts Capital Campaign. This funding will allow the college to elevate the quality of instruction and equipment to prepare students for great food industry careers.
